Horse-Drawn Hearse

We have restored an authentic 19th century horse-drawn hearse complete with oil-burning coach lamps.  The interior has been fitted to carry modern-day normal sized caskets.

The hearse may be used at no additional charge, however local stables charge for the use of their horses.

They have placed limits on the distance their animals can travel; the cemetery must be a short distance (4 miles or less) from the service location.

If this is not possible, a motorized hearse may be used for the distance to the cemetery and the casket can be transferred to the horse-drawn hearse at the entrance and everyone can follow on foot behind the hearse to the gravesite.
In addition, carriages may be available for family transportation.

Please note: Weather conditions may limit the use of these vehicles.
