Meet the funeral directors and funeral home staff members of Schepp Family Funeral Homes: EATON-TUBBS Fayetteville Chapel - R.H. SCHEPP & SON Minoa Chapel - NEWELL-FAY Manlius Chapel. We are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.

Thomas R. Schepp

Funeral Director

A native of Minoa, Tom is a graduate of ES-M High School, LeMoyne College, and Simmons Institute of Funeral Service. His father Russell established a funeral home in Minoa in 1938 and welcomed his son as a partner in 1979. In the face of changing times with large conglomerates taking over many funeral homes, Tom opted to merge the funeral homes of Fayetteville, Manlius, and Minoa, construct new facilities for the villages, and continue the tradition of local, family-owned community service.

Tom's younger children Ethan and Larah attend the Fayetteville-Manlius School District. Tom’s oldest son, T.R., is a law clerk with Judge Neri, and Bobby works for the Town of Manlius Highway Department. Along with that Tom's son Ethan Runs his own lawn care and Snow Plow Service.

Michael J. Small

Funeral Director

A native of Fayetteville, Mike is a graduate of Immaculate Conception School, Assumption High School, and Simmons Institute of Funeral Service. Mike joined Selden Tubbs at the Eaton-Tubbs Funeral Home in Fayetteville in 1981 and has been with the firm through the years. Mike is a member of the Wortley Foundation Board of Directors, a member & treasurer of the Manlius Historical Society board of trustees, and is a former member & chairman of the Fayetteville Senior Center Board. He has been on the Village of Fayetteville Board of Trustees since 2001.

Erich A. Schepp

Funeral Director

Tom’s son Erich graduated F-M High School, LeMoyne College, and Simmons Institute of Funeral Service. He currently serves with the Fayetteville Fire Department where he is a life member. From 2005 to 2017 he was a member of the Minoa Fire Department, having been elected Chief in 2013 and kept the position until 2017. Since 2012, Erich has been a part time fire instructor for New York State. He is also a deputy coordinator for Onondaga County Emergency Management.
Erich joined the family business in 2004 starting the fourth generation of the family in professional funeral service. He resides in Fayetteville and has three children, Tyler, Madelynn and Gavin. He strives to further the industry being active with the Central New York Funeral Directors Association where he served as President from 2019-2021 as well as Selected Independent Funeral Homes where he has served on many committees.

Katherine Velasco-Schuyler

Funeral Director

Katie is a graduate of Cazenovia High School, John Jay College in Manhattan and Simmons Institute of Funeral Service. She joined the Schepp Family Firm in March 2014. Katie and her husband, Christopher Schuyler reside in Cazenovia with their daughter Gemma.

Kurt Benedict

Funeral Director

Kurt is formerly of the Rome area and attended Rome Catholic High School and is an Army Veteran. Now a resident of Syracuse, Kurt graduated from Simmons Institute of Funeral Service and joined the Schepp Family Firm in March of 2014.
