Schepp Funeral Home - A Leader Among Syracuse Funeral Homes

syracuse funeral homes and funeral service schepp funeral homeThe Schepp funeral home in the town of Manlius has a long history of service to the community– generations of families serving their neighbors. Also Schepp has become a staple name among Syracuse funeral homes. Scroll through the next few pages for a brief history of each firm to the present day.

While many funeral homes have been purchased by large national conglomerates, the three homes in the town are still independently owned by the Schepp family. Thomas R. Schepp, a native of Minoa, joined his father Russ in the family’s village funeral home in 1979.

When Selden Tubbs retired in 1986, Tom purchased the Eaton-Tubbs Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Lawrence Fay retired in 1999 and Tom then purchased the Newell-Fay Funeral Home in Manlius. While many economic efficiencies have been realized behind the scenes, the same home-town personalized service valued by so many families through the years remains the hallmark in each community. Additional amenities including modern professional vehicles including limousine service for every family and special amenities such as vintage automobiles and a horse-drawn hearse are exclusively available at the three Syracuse funeral homes. Rather than centralize, the Schepp family decided to maintain a facility in each community. The Fayetteville facility was updated in 1992 with a new building on Genesee Street and a new facility on Cazenovia Road in Manlius was constructed in 2004. A new facility opened in Minoa in 2013 at the corner of Kirkville and Schepp's Corners Roads.
