Jack Stanley Podkaminer, 2½, of Jamesville, gained his angel wings on Thursday, surrounded by family and loved ones after a long illness. Jack was born in Syracuse on February 18, 2011. Jack was a beautiful, sweet, loving and feisty little boy who loved his family and was loved by all who met him. He looked up to his big brother Witt. They shared a love of trucks, playing in their sandbox, using their ipads, jumping on their trampoline and riding with their Dad on his tractor. Jack loved to help with his new sister Ellis. He helped hold her, feed and burp her, rock her and hold her hand. Jack was loved and adored so deeply by his Mom and Dad. Jack was so tough and brave and will be remembered for his strength and courage, and the ability to smile, laugh and play even on difficult days.
Jack is survived by his parents, Joshua W. and Rebecca (Richardson) Podkaminer; brother, Nathan Wittenberg age 4 years; sister, Ellison Kinder age 2 months all of Jamesville; paternal grandparents, Nathan and Jane Podkaminer of Jamesville; maternal grandparents, Bud and Donna Richardson of Auburn; aunts and uncles, Kara Podkaminer of Boulder, CO, Torrey Podkaminer Peters (Scott) of Rochester, Zak Podkaminer of Rochester and Bud Richardson of Auburn; cousins, Bodie and Ayla Peters; great aunts and uncles, Bob Podkaminer (Judy Cortez), Joel Podkaminer (Tina), Kathryn Kinder (Steve McDonald), Diane Kudla (Ken), Kathy Walawender (Donald), Mary Fishlock (Mark), Raymond Drake (Paula), Paul Drake (Sally), Robert Drake (Linda) and David Haake; and many other cousins including Anne Bastoni (Mitch), Jacob Podkaminer, Kelly Cosentino (Joe), Madison Cosentino, Tracey Engelking (Chad) and Erik Haake; and distant relatives. He was predeceased by his aunt, Susan Kinder Haake.
A funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 11th at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 10th at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.
