Obituary for Arlene M. Vowles

Arlene M. Vowles, 89, of Manlius, passed away peacefully on Saturday. Born in Fayetteville, Arlene graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1945 and attended Powelson Business Institute. Arlene was awarded a special voice scholarship to Syracuse University by Mrs. Winfield Chapin and studied under Professor Ruth Pinnell. She preformed in two performances at Carnegie Hall in 1959 under the direction of Leonard Bernstein. She coached with Madame Claire AlceƩ, Ruth Julia Hall and Mrs. Andrew White of Fairfield in Fayetteville.
Arlene retired from Gaurdian Life Insurance Co. in 1990 after 36 years. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fayetteville and a member of the Oasis Choir.
She was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Maude Vowles and brothers, Robert S. Dunt in 2002 and Stanley A. Vowles, Jr. in 1981.
She is survived by a niece, Valerie Bowen of Glenmoore, PA; a nephew, Rex H. Dunt of Berlin, MD; and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 17th at Trinity Episcopal Church, 106 Chapel St., Fayetteville. Burial will be in Fayetteville Cemetery.
