Obituary for William E. Francey

William E. Francey, 88, of Minoa, passed away Friday surrounded by his family. He was born in Syracuse and graduated from North High School. He served in the Navy during WWII and as a Marine in the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver. He was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church in East Syracuse for many years and more recently St. Mary’s Church in Minoa. He was a member and past commander of VFW Post 9596, Scout Master Troop 144 in Fremont and volunteered with Pop Warner Football and as cook at both St. Matthew’s Church and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Beverly Snyder Francey; children, David (Heidi), Kathryn (Tom) Stedman, Debra Miller and William D. (Sharon); nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 2:30 pm Monday at the R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd., Minoa. A service will follow the calling hours. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Minoa.
