Obituary for John R Webb Jr.

John R. “Jack” Webb, Jr. 85, of Fayetteville died peacefully as his family read from his book of poems. He was born in Syracuse and graduated from Central Tech High School. He was Director of Systems and Programming at Mutual of New York for over 20 years retiring in 1987. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville and served in the Air National Guard. He was an accomplished artist, published poet, philanthropist, avid reader and book collector, enjoyed gardening and his summers at Brantingham Lake.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arlene Lukacs Webb; daughter, Allison Webb Burns; grandchildren, Ashley (Gino) Molfino, Margaret (Scott) Collins, Emily (Ryan) Schnell and Joey Burns; great-grandchildren, Poppy Molfino and Hannah Collins; sister, Margaret Reney; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John R. Webb, Sr. and Marjorie Webb; sister, Shirley Webb Drumm; and son-in-law, Joseph Michael Burns III.
Services will be 9:15 am Friday at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel and 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. Burial will be in the Fayetteville Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.
