Obituary for Charles R. Greiner

Charles R. Greiner passed away peacefully at the Crossings in Minoa with his loved ones by his side.
He was born in Syracuse to Frank and Marjorie Greiner on March 25, 1929 and lived his entire life in the Syracuse area.
Charlie was one of the last few people to get his law degree by taking the required courses for 2 years at Siena College and then “reading law” at the Melvin & Melvin law firm for 5 years before taking and passing the bar exam to become an attorney. He stayed with the Melvin office, eventually becoming a partner, and retiring after 38 years.
After retirement, he spent many wonderful years with his family at their camp in the Adirondacks.
Charlie loved hunting, fishing and puttering in his workshop, but most of all, he loved his wife and family. He was a wonderful husband and father, and a great friend to so many. He was a good man who led a good life and he will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Helen Brubaker Greiner, and his 9 children; William (Wendy), Deborah (Michael) Mahoney, Richard (Leanne), Karen (Robert) Alexander, Susan (William) Carson, Barbara (Joseph) Roach, Connie (Thomas) Benack, Gail (April) Greiner-Hammond, and Robert (Mary); 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday September 24, 2016 from 2 to 5 pm at the R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Road, Minoa.
Contributions may be made to Heaven’s Pantry, 229 West Yates Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
