Obituary for John E. Potter

John E.  Potter
John E. Potter, 88, of Manlius passed away Saturday. He was born in Elbridge the son of Floyd and Ellen Potter. After graduating high school John proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He later earned his CBA from the Bank Administration Institute and worked as an AVP and Audit Officer for HSBC until his retirement in 1987.
John was a member of the Manlius Senior Centre, American Legion and a former member of the Manlius Lions.
He enjoyed his family, golf and life in general. John also was a collector of small antiques, trains and collectables.
He is predeceased by his wife Joyce of 34 years. Surviving are his sons Gary J. ( Deborah) and John C. (Becky) Potter; grandchildren, Melissa Nelmes, Jason, Jonathan, Jacob and Andrew Potter; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Natalie and Abigail Nelmes, Charlotte Potter and niece Charlene Madison.
A memorial service for John will be 11:00 a.m February 4th at Eastern Hills Bible Church, 4600 Enders Rd. Manlius, NY 13104.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Manlius Senior Centre, 1 Arkie Albanese Way, Manlius, NY 13104, or Eastern Hills Bible Church, 4600 Enders Rd., Manlius, NY 13104.
