Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Nancy Hedstrom can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Nancy Louise Hedstrom

Nancy Louise Hedstrom of Fayetteville, NY passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017. She was 79. Nancy was born on June 3, 1937 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She is predeceased by her parents Harold and Ethel Galloway and her late husband of 46 years, Carleton (Gus) Hedstrom.

Nancy is survived by her five children; James of Providence, RI, Mary Twichell of Fayetteville, NY, John (Leonor) of Estoril, Portugal, Karen Corcoran of Florida and Timothy (Tracy) of Winnetka, IL; eight grandchildren, Matt, Kristina, Mike, Ali, TJ, Madeleine, Jack and Will; two brothers David (Marilyn), Gary (Paula), and one sister Cathy (Ron) and 7 nieces and nephews.

Nancy was known in life as a loving wife and caring mother of five. She was a devout Catholic, wonderful gardener and homemaker who loved to receive guests in her home. Nancy volunteered for years at her church in the daycare center, and up until the end of her life, children continued to bring a smile to her face. The family feels very fortunate to have had such a loving and compassionate team of people surrounding and caring for her at McHarrie Place.

There will be a private memorial service held at a later date.
