Condolence From: Kelly Kinsella Hulbert
Condolence: Carol, George and Eddie,

I was sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I remember her fondly. She always had a plentiful supply of Charles Chips and didn't seem to mind us showing up unannounced for lunch. In addition she seemed unfazed by the horses that were tied up outside her back door. May your memories of your Mom console you during this difficult time.

Condolence: Despite living on the other side of the country, I'm very grateful to have grown up so closely bonded with my Gridley family. The farm holds my best childhood memories, like having lunch together as a family watching the hummingbirds at the kitchen table after all helping to make sandwiches. Or having Carol and Oliver show me how baby cows in the barn will suck on my thumb as a kid.
I hold so much love and pride in being related to Carol. The only thing I can't stand, is the thought of not being able to walk into that familiar living room and see her smile upon seeing me once more.

I love my second home, I love my family, I love my Gridleys. No matter how old I get I will always make time to travel across the country as often as I can just to hug you all.
Love from Katie

Condolence: Carol was the glue that held the farm together, the silent partner who would do anything to help out, and always with a smile. She loved all the company and her family was near and dear to heart. Since I had no siblings, she and Olly were more like a sister and brother to me, rather than cousins, and the farm a second home for me and my family. I shall be forever grateful for my time with Carol before she died. Although I miss them both, it warms my heart to see the fourth generation so active there. Phil joins me in sending our love and condolences to all of the family.

Condolence From: Jean & Betty in Ithaca
Condolence: "Well hello Jean and Betty in Ithaca." These words and Carol's distinctive voice will always by remembered. Sixty seven years ago gates opened at the Gridley Farm to welcome a new Saratoga Springs high school graduate who needed farm training before entering Cornell's College of Agriculture. Intervening years have added so many fond memories. George, Ed, Carol Ann and your families, we share your sadness. In many ways, Carol and Ollie were our adopted parents. May they rest in peace together.
