Obituary for Carole R. Coon

Carole R. Coon of Chittenango passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 after a brief illness. Born on October 3, 1946 in Syracuse, N.Y., she is preceded in death by parents, Elgin and Louise Rolfe and sister, Phyllis. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 12 P.M - 2 P.M. followed by a funeral service at R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd. Burial will be at the Kirkville Cemetery.

Carole married her soulmate, Paul Coon on June 25, 1966, with whom she celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage last year. She was a kind, loving, and generous person who loved her family, and in addition to raising her three children, she also enjoyed being a grandmother, her church family, cruises with Paul, and hobbies such as gardening, sewing and crafts. Carole retired from the North Syracuse School District, where she was a secretary for 16 years.

Carole is survived by her loving husband, Paul, two sons Brian (Lori) and Tim (Marvella), daughter Karen Bailey (Kevin) Bailey, grandchildren Sarah, Anne, Logan, Joshua, Sophia, and Alexa. She is also survived by her brothers Gerry (Eileen) and Herb (Faith) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
