Condolence: Dear Mary Ellen & Family, At this time I find a loss for words to express our feelings. You have our deepest condolences. I think of all the great times we had together. Condolence: For my "Uncle" Doug. I will always remember you, so tall and so kind, singing around the campfire, leading wild treasure hunts, and scaring the heck out of us in the Disney Tom Sawyer Caves. We have made a donation to SUNY-ESF in your memory. Love to all the Bartows!

Condolence: The passing of my good friend has left me with an unbeliveable emptiness and sense of loss. I have not seen Doug in many years but have asked about him every time I have seen other friends from Syracuse. Doug and I work for the DOT as Landscape Architects and shared many in unbelievable times there and with the NYS Association of Transportation Engineers where we served on the State Board together. Doug had a wit and energy that was contagious. He was a great friend that I always had a fantastic time with. I will miss him deeply and extend to his wife, Mary Ellen and his entire family my heartfelt condolences and he will forever be in my prayers. God Bless, God Speed and . . . Go SU!

Condolence: Mary Ellen and Family, So sorry to hear the news on the passing of Doug and wish to express my sincerest condolences. It was a courageous fight over the past several years. It was a lot of fun on our row at the Dome for basketball over the many years. I'll always remember when Doug showed up in a gray shirt for an SU-Georgetown game, took a lot of razzing for it, went out and came back in with no shirt on! He will be missed and again, my thoughts with the family. Howie Lynne

Condolence: To the AMAZING Bartow family. I am proud to have known all of you for so many years back in Fremont. "Dougal" and "Chrisers" were great friends of mine growing up, and are obviously the results of wonderful parenting. Mr. and Mrs. Bartow always made us kids feel welcome, whether it was camping in the back yard (or the driveway in the pop-up camper), hanging for endless hours in the basement watching MTV or awful 80's movies, or watching the Boneheads jam in the garage. Mr. Bartow was a staple at the Davis Street baseball field as our umpire and coach as well. He was a great guy, and I'm glad you all had him in your lives for so many years. Rest In Peace, Mr. Bartow...see...I still can't call him Doug (the man commanded respect). All my best to you guys.

Condolence: Dear Mary Ellen, Doug, Chris and family. I want you to know that I have been most fortunate to have a friend like Doug. He was sharp witted, kind and loyal. Over the years he stayed the same person that I met in 1959. I won't detail the many things that he has done for me. I just want to say "Doug, I will miss you".
