Elizabeth J.  Sim
Elizabeth J. (Pelkey) Sim, 54, of Cicero, passed away Sunday morning, August 13, 2017 after courageously battling breast cancer for two years.
Born in Syracuse on January 15, 1963, she was the daughter of Ernest J. and Lucille R. Pelkey. Beth was a graduate of Cazenovia College and she was employed with Guignard Florist for many years.
Beth enjoyed quilting and knitting. She also loved to spend quality time and going out to dinner with friends and family.
She was predeceased by her father, Ernest J. Pelkey and brother, Arthur D. Pelkey. Surviving are her mother, Lucille R. Pelkey; sister, Patricia (Fredrick) Fowler; sister-in-law, Susan E. Pelkey; niece, Christina (Thomas) Walsh; nephew, James E. (Katie) Pelkey; great nieces and nephews, also known as her munchkins, Sophie, Robert and Lucy Walsh, Madalyn and Annabelle Pelkey; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
A special thank you to the caring staff at St. Joseph’s 3-2 floor AKA “The Penthouse” for their wonderful care, love and support during this journey.
Calling hours will be Thursday 4 to 7 at the R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Road, Minoa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10am at St. Rose of Lima, 409 S. Main Street, North Syracuse. A burial will be made in the North Syracuse Cemetery.
Contributions can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Rd, East Syracuse, NY 13057 or the SPCA, 5878 E. Molloy Rd, Syracuse, NY 13211.
