Condolence: I was heartbroken to learn on Dave's passing. My heart goes out to his family during this difficult time. Dave made Syracuse feel like home for the year I lived there and worked with him at CNYCF. When I was moving away he wrote to me that he was not good at goodbyes--he always clammed up--so all there was to say was "I'm going to miss you." He was funny, handsome, and kind. He welcomed me into his group of friends, put up with endless trips for Gannon's ice cream, and spent time studying obscure Scrabble words so that we could try to win at Charity Scrabble. Now, all I can say is, I am going to miss you.

Condolence: Dave and I started working at Community Foundation in 2010, just one month apart. It was the first "real" job either of us had and it was wonderful to have a trusted friend and confidant in Dave. He and I grew closer throughout my time there, and although I ended up on a different career path in a different part of the country, we kept in close contact throughout the years.

Condolence: I keep hearing Dave's incredible laugh in my head and hope I can always remember that sound. He was everyone's friend. Through middle school pranks to high school committees, Dave was a central figure to us all at FM and throughout Syracuse.
