John B.  Iles
John Iles, 61, of Jamesville, NY, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. John’s life was about being a kind and loving person and lending a helping hand when needed. He loved golfing, carpentry, bowling, stained glass and caring for his hummingbirds that would come in the yard year after year. He enjoyed the friends who he shared these passions with, as well as the people he worked over the years with at Fed Ex and the United States Post Office. He was an inspiration for how to live your best life to all who shared this journey with him. John faced his battle with cancer with courage and determination. He will be greatly missed but he will always be in our thoughts and hearts.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Nina of Jamesville; his beloved daughter, Lyndsay of Jamesville; sisters, Susan O’Leary of Fairport NY, Cathy and her husband Chris Davenport of Asheville, NC; in-laws, Arnon and Peggy Greif of Ithaca NY; sister-in-law, Karen Greif of Manlius NY; brother-in-law, Robert Berger of Syracuse NY; stepmother, Marilyn (Mrs. Walter G. Iles II) of Asheville, NC; as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Lois Iles Jr; brother, Walter Iles III; sister, Nancy Berger; grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Calling hours will be held at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, Schepp Family Funeral Homes, 7191 E. Genesee Street, Fayetteville, NY on Wednesday, September 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A private family burial will follow on Thursday, September 21.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 N. 7th Street, Liverpool, NY 13088 or a charity of your choice.
