Obituary for Donald D. Grevelding

Donald D. Grevelding, 86, of East Syracuse, entered unto rest on Thursday. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Edward and Bernice Grevelding. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years Betty Lupole Grevelding, his daughter, Sandra Karkowski, brothers Pat, Francis and Nick and sisters, Clara Ford, Rose Silva and Mary Burt.
He is survived by his children, Donna (James) Reynolds of Minoa, Nancy (James) Emert of Canastota, Sheila (Daniel) Martin of Cicero, Donald (Carrie) Grevelding of East Syracuse; brother, Edward Grevelding of Riverbank, CA; sister, Irene Wiley of Syracuse; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
He was a mechanic by trade and worked at East Syracuse Sales, Central New York Freightways and retired from the Town of DeWitt Highway Department. When he wasn’t out shopping with his good friend Chuck at Willy Lumber or Tractor Supply you could find him out puttering in his garage, mowing or snow blowing on one of his John Deere tractors or sitting out front watching over the neighborhood.
Family and friends may call on Monday, October 2 from 4 to 8 pm at R. H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Road, Minoa. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, October 3 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
