Obituary for Ceylon E. "Pinky" Higgins

Ceylon E. Higgins, 97, of Liverpool passed away Friday. Ceylon was born in Marcellus the son of the late Everett and Isabelle Higgins. He grew up in Marcellus and graduated from Marcellus High School. After High School Ceylon proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Upon his return he married the light of his life Susan Zeolla.

Ceylon worked with New York Central Rail Road until his retirement in 1979.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Susan; sons James (Julie) Higgins and Richard Higgins; several nieces and nephews. Ceylon is predeceased by his sisters, Alma Ada, Gertrude, Alzina; brother James.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 4, from 11-12 p.m. at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St. Fayetteville. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery with Military Honors.
