Obituary for Caryl Lee Johnson

Caryl Lee Tyler Johnson, 90, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully at home with her family. She was born in Blue Island, IL and attended the University of Chicago and the Katharine Gibbs School. Following school she worked for an advertising agency in Chicago. Caryl Lee married George E. Johnson in 1949 in Chicago. They moved to Syracuse in the early 50s.

She was a member of DeWitt Community Church, the Century Club, Onondaga Golf & Country Club, the Brockway Farms Garden Club and the Tuesday Book Club. She loved golf, tennis and bowling.

She was predeceased by her husband, George in 2008.

She is survived by her sister, Irma Smith; daughters, Candace (David) Schneckenburger and Heather Gorham; grandchildren, Carey (Matthew) Mottet, Cristina Gorham, Jonathan (Jessica) Schneckenburger, Ashlee Gorham; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Mottet, Catherine Mottet, William Schneckenburger, Benjamin Mottet and Andrew Schneckenburger.

Family and friends may call from on 4:00 to 6:00 pm Friday, October 20th at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The funeral will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 21st at DeWitt Community Church, 3600 Erie Blvd. E., DeWitt.
