Obituary for Elizabeth M. Gilcher

Elizabeth M. Gilcher, 79 of Minoa, passed away Friday. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of the late John and Mary Stone. Elizabeth graduated from Nottingham High School and later attended Keuka College. She was a long time employee of Onondaga Savings Bank, later named OnBank until her retirement.
Elizabeth was an active volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House, preparing meals for residents and guests. She crocheted quilts which were then donated to University Hospital.
Elizabeth was co-founder and Chair of a neighborhood book club for 16 years. She also enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the ballet, theater and zoo.
Surviving are her three children Darren Gilcher, Kristin (Gilcher) Bowers and Penelope L. Gilcher; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her husband of forty years George W. Gilcher.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at R. H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd. Minoa.
