Obituary for Patricia S. Jeffery

Patricia S. Jeffery, 91, a 62 year resident of Manlius, passed away Friday, October 27. She was born in Berkley, CA, the youngest of six daughters of the late Louis and Corinne Stellman. Pat graduated from Nottingham High School and went on to graduate from Syracuse University in 1948 and was a Cornell University Masters candidate. She was a member of the Syracuse University alpine ski team and of Kappa Alpha Theta.
She, and her husband John, together ran the Jeffery School, an early childhood school in the Fayetteville Manlius area. Later Pat worked for the Madison County BOCES in the early childhood area.
Pat was an enthusiastic volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Syracuse, a member of the board of the ABC House Manlius High School, Manlius Recycling group and the Junior League.
Pat loved the outdoors with Camp Chateaugay, the campgrounds of Adirondack Park and the coast of Maine being her special places. She took great joy in singing (around a campfire), reading a good book (many), skiing the hills of upstate New York, and swimming, canoeing and camping with her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Jean J. (Paul) Regan; sons, John (Marilyn) Jr., Douglas K. (Mary Lou), Kent R. (Marilyn), William B. (Kim), and Daniel P. (Patricia Oot) Jeffery; grandchildren, Chris and Wesley Shaw, Alexandra Jeffery, Luke and Emma Jeffery, Johanna Bavosi, Ryan and Brett Jeffery, Aryan Agan, Ashley Perry, Burke and Matt Regan, Ben, Brad, Maurita and Jack Jeffery. She is predeceased by her husband, John Jeffery.
Services will be held at 7pm on Saturday, November 4 at Christ Church, 407 E. Seneca St., Manlius.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Manlius Public Library.
