Ruth M.  Dowley
Ruth McClarity Dowley, 91, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Ruth’s light-hearted spirit, infectious laugh, and love for family, pets, and life will be missed.
She was enthusiastic and gifted in many ways. Her curiosity made learning fun. She was always up for an adventure whether it was flooding the backyard for ice-skating or installing a picture window in the kitchen.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, John V. Dowley, her daughter Karen Prendergast, and her sisters Blanche Carpenter and Eleanor McClarity.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas McClarity, her children Patricia (Frank) Kroboth, Robert (Joe Wong) Dowley, Susan (Dennis) Meisner, and Meg (Tom) Anderson. She is the loving grandmother of John (Antonette) Prendergast, Lauren and Katherine Meisner, and David Anderson.
She was a communicant of Holy Cross Catholic Church, former parishioner of St. James, and graduate of St. Lucy’s High School.
The family acknowledges the excellent care of Dr. Victor Croglio and in her final days, the support from Hospice of Central New York.
Calling hours will be Friday, November 10th from 4:30 to 7:00pm at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 11th at 10am at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. A Burial will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
