Obituary for Beverly A. Bilbo

Beverly Anne Bilbo, 90, of Fayetteville, died peacefully at Menorah Park of Central New York on November 18, 2017. Born in Little Falls, New York to Grace and Thomas Eckert, and raised in Hadley - Lake Luzerne, Bev was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

Beverly was a proud alumnus of Syracuse University School of Nursing, Class of 1949. She specialized in psychiatric nursing and worked at the former Syracuse Psychopathic Hospital and Willard State Hospital on Seneca Lake. Beverly was a past member of the Auxiliary of St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center and dedicated to serving the needs of the hospital. An avid reader, Bev was a frequent visitor of the local libraries and particularly fond of the works of William Shakespeare and Emily Dickinson. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and vacationing at her home in Runaway Bay, Jamaica.

Beverly is survived by her children, Dr. Jim (Becky) Bilbo of Fort Mitchell, KY, Anne Gender of Highland Mills, NY, Judy Carr of Boston, MA, Mary (Rick) Coughlin of DeWitt, and Patrick Bilbo of Wayland, MA; cherished grandchildren, Carrie and Tommy Bilbo, Sarah (Nick) Criscione, Paul (Alison) Carr and Lisa Carr, Elizabeth, James and Katherine Coughlin, and Alexandra and Nicole Bilbo; and sister Joan (Al) Zimmermann. Beverly was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Richard E. Bilbo, and granddaughter, Kate Bilbo.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Menorah Park for their exceptional care and compassion.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 9:00-11:00 am at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
