Edward J. Thornton III stopped looking at the green side on November 28, 2017. Edward and Norma Fisher Thornton welcomed their son on May 17, 1946 and raised him in Colonie, NY where he was king of the 8th grade. They relocated to Syracuse in 1963, and in 1974 he settled in Liverpool to raise his family. He is carried in the hearts of his wife of 43 years, Karen; children, Michael Parrillo Jr., Marlon and Amy Alvarez, and Meghan Thornton; brothers, William Thornton and Jack Tomeny; adored grandchildren, Claire, Kayla, Genesis, Julian, and Miles; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. 
Edd operated his own business, KEMA Enterprises, for almost 50 years. He was a lifelong Yankees and Notre Dame supporter, and a fair weather fan of the Syracuse Orange. He was known as Uncle Edd or King to his large extended family and many friends. His one-liners will be dearly missed.
Known as Thunder at the bowling alley, he was a champion many times over. His biggest win occurred at the Eastwood Sports Center when he found Karen. Known as Coach on the softball field, he founded the Liverpool Sidewinders and was a longtime assistant at Liverpool High School. Instead of prayers, Coach Thornton would like all his former players to recite the infield fly rule.

Calling hours will be Thursday, November 30 from 4 to 7 PM at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. A memorial service will also be held there on Friday, December 1 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens.
