Obituary for Mathew T. Dix

Mathew T. Dix
Mathew T. Dix, 27, of Fayetteville, passed away unexpectedly in California Saturday, December 2, 2017. He was born September 2, 1990 in Syracuse, the son of Marshal and Kathleen Dix. He was a 2008 graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School.

Matty was a hard worker, who worked many years for his eldest brother landscaping and plowing. He took pride in everything he did. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, camping, and having a beer with friends by a fire. He loved to travel especially for live music and festivals. You could always find him dancing on the side of a crowd like no one was looking. He was a huge animal lover and if you were his friend rest assured your dog was too.

Matty was humble, quiet and soft spoken. He could say a thousand words without saying one. He held respect for everyone he came across. His words were always uplifting and he would be the first to throw his arm around you and give you a big hug.

In his memory, we will take a note from his book of life; never take anyone for granted and live each moment to the fullest while remembering to dance even if no one else is.

He is survived by his parents, Marshal and Kathleen Dix; sister, Jackie Dix; four brothers, Marshal III, Christopher, Jonathan and William Dix; niece, Aubrey who loved her uncle Mousey; nephews Jackson and Beckham who will forever miss their uncle Mat- Mat; his girlfriend, Lizzy Labs; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his sister, Julie Dix and his best friend Buddy the dog.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7 P.M. at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St. Fayetteville. A celebration of his life will be Saturday at 2 P.M. at The Orchards at Rocking Horse Farm, 3760 Apulia Road, Jamesville, NY 13078.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to CNY SPCA, to help others find their Buddy like Matty did. 5878 E. Molloy Rd., Syracuse, NY 13211.
