Obituary for Ruth C. Pesane

Ruth C.  Pesane
Ruth C. (Guckert) Pesane, 97, passed away peacefully on December 8th, with her loving husband, Luke, of 75 years and family members by her side. Born in Syracuse on February 26, 1920, Ruth grew up in Solvay with her three sisters and brother. She was the talented owner of Ruth’s Style Shop, where she specialized in making wedding gowns and specialty dresses. Ruth worked for Syracuse Pottery for several years.

Ruth was a past President and active member of the Plymouth Garden Club. She delighted many with creative gifts from her basement craft shop. She was a long time member of the Cavalry Club and a 9 hole Golf Champion. Her generous spirit and kindness led her to volunteer for many years at the Sisters of St. Francis Convent in Syracuse. She touched so many lives with her gracious smile, outgoing personality, and many talents at Craft shows and the NY State Fair. Ruth loved the Lord and was a long standing parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville. Hobbies included bowling, golfing, gardening, sewing, arts & crafts and always helping her children & grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her husband Luke, who recently celebrated his 100th birthday; son James & Anne Pesane of Brewerton, daughter Patricia & Pat Burgess of Michigan, daughter Susan & Tom Korzeniewski of Liverpool, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may visit at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville, NY, on Thursday, December 14th from 4-7pm; funeral Mass to follow Friday morning 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Mausoleum in DeWitt.
