Obituary for Lorraine Davis Dimon

Lorraine Davis Dimon, 93, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on December 7. Lorraine was born in Brasher Falls, graduated from Tupper Lake High School, and studied nursing at General Hospital of Syracuse. She worked as a nurse at Crouse Hospital, Tompkins County Memorial Hospital and Private Duty until her retirement in 1985.

Lorraine was a member of the United Church of Fayetteville where she served as president of the Women’s Organization, and was a member of the Church Women United, Presbyterian Women, Baptist Women and the Tuesday AM Covenant Group. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Upstate Hospital and a member of the Fayetteville Senior Center. Lorraine was known for her positive, uplifting spirit, her deep faith, and her compassion toward others.

She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Erwin W. Dimon in 2014.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen Dalessandro (David) of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Ronald Dimon (Kay) of Manlius, Rev. Karen Dimon (Rev. Dr. Peter Shidemantle) of DeWitt, Deborah of Alexandria, VA and Kenneth Dimon (Marita) of Santa Fe, NM; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her neighbors and Church family.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the United Church of Fayetteville, 310 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.

By donating her body to Upstate Medical Center she continues to contribute to science and the educational advancement to others.
