Obituary for Barbara Page Arbogast

Barbara Page Arbogast, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. She was born May 20, 1940 to Dr. Lawrence and Bernice (Howard) Hawkes in New York City. After graduating from Emma Willard Preparatory School she earned a BA in Fine Arts from Cornell University and a Masters in Fine Arts in Education from Columbia University. In her later years she earned another Masters Degree in Nursing from D’Youville College in Buffalo. Her love for the arts continued after moving to Phoenix, AZ where she became a docent at the Phoenix Art Museum. Upon her diagnosis of cancer she moved back East to be close to her daughter Kim and became involved with the Everson Museum of Art. She greatly enjoyed a season of Syracuse Stage and Friends of Chamber Music.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim and husband Richard of Syracuse; her son, Stephen and his wife Michelle of Chesapeake, VA; her grandchildren, Brandon of Camillus, Keisha of Clay, David and Mark of Castle Pine, CO; and two great grandchildren.

Barbara’s family would like to express their warm gratitude to Hospice of CNY and caregivers, Melanie and Karen.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 6:00 pm Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The service will follow the calling hour.

In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara’s Memory may be made to the Everson Museum of Art or Hospice of CNY.
