Obituary for Wanda Marie Gogol

Wanda Marie (Donlyuk) Gogol, 94, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2018 at VanDuyn Center in Syracuse, where she had resided for the past 6 months.

Born September 7, 1923 in Salisbury Center, Herkimer County, Wanda lived much of her busy life with her husband, Carl, running a dairy farm in Jordanville, NY. She later retired from Mohawk Data Science in Herkimer before moving to Chittenango and Manlius, NY.

She always kept busy with her home, perfect lawn and flower gardens. She was known for her cooking and baking, most especially her pies.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl A. Gogol, Sr.; parents, Walter and Agnes (Potocka) Donlyuk; brothers, John and Edward Donlyuk; and sister, Jessie Dolhun.

Surviving are her son, Carl A. Gogol, Jr. (Susan) of Manlius, NY; grandson, Benjamin Gogol (Angela) of Virginia; granddaughter, Jennifer Wilson of NC; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In keeping with Wanda’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held prior to interment in Herkimer’s Calvary Cemetery.
