Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Charlotte Cornell can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Charlotte H. Cornell

Charlotte Holt Cornell, 82, of Cazenovia, NY, passed away at home on January 25, 2018. She was born in 1935 in Newport News, VA. A graduate of St. Catherine’s School and Mount Vernon Junior College, Charlotte spent many years raising her 5 children and was committed to volunteer work for such organizations as Literacy Volunteers and Meals on Wheels.

She is predeceased by her father, Harry H. Holt Jr.; step-mother, Jean E. Holt; and her mother, Charlotte Burrage Holt.

She is survived by daughters, Charlotte Cornell-Simmons (John) of Hendersonville, NC, Catherine Cornell of Fayetteville, NY, Elizabeth Race (Patrick) of Cazenovia, NY, Patricia Cornell of Los Angeles, CA; son, Peter Cornell of Cazenovia, NY; and a sister, Diana (David) Wilcoxson of Danville, CA. Charlotte is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Andrew Simmons, Miranda Lennox, Daniel McKeever, Charles McKeever, Justin McKeever, Conor Race, Keeley Race, Kalista Cornell, and Ronan Defanti Cornell.

A private family service will be held at St. James Church in Cazenovia. Burial will be in Hampton, VA.

Charlotte will be remembered for her love of music, dancing and art.
