Rosemary W.  Winkert
Rosemary Waidele Winkert of Manlius, NY, died peacefully at Menorah Park with family at her side, Saturday, February 3, 2018. Born June 24, 1926, in Syracuse, New York to Irene and P. Arthur Waidele, Rosemary was married to William Charles “Bill” Hogan from 1949 until his death in 1974. Together they raised four children. In 1976 she married Theodore “Ted” Winkert with whom she enjoyed traveling and spending time at their home in Crescent Beach, FL. Rosemary was always proud that she was responsible for over 40 family members and friends spending yearly vacations at Crescent Beach, and she dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rosemary was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville, and St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Crescent Beach, Florida. Active in the community, Rosemary served on the Syracuse Symphony Association Board of Directors, the Everson Museum Members Council, the Corinthian Club of Syracuse, the Friends of Lorenzo and the Lorenzo Docent Program in Cazenovia. She was a member of the Cavalry Club, the Spade and Trowel Garden Club of Manlius, the Crouse Hospital Auxiliary, also serving as a volunteer at the hospital, the Gold’s Gym Athletic Club, the Altar and Rosary Society of Immaculate Conception Church, Willow Bank Yacht Club at Cazenovia, the Syracuse Stage Guild and the Limestone Tennis Club.

Rosemary was predeceased by her first husband, William Charles Hogan, and second husband, Theodore Winkert. She is survived by her sister, Joan (Garrit) Lugthart, Manlius, NY; her daughters, Melanie (David) Chapman, Parish, NY and Lisa (Tom Orcutt) Hogan, Syracuse, NY; her sons, William Michael Hogan, Daytona Beach, FL and Martin Hogan, Salt Lake City, UT; her step-son, Peter Winkert, Cazenovia, NY; step-daughter, Katherine Winkert, Cazenovia, NY; and six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 9, from 4:00 to 6:00PM at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 10, at 10:00AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville, NY, with burial services following at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosemary’s memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter, and The Terrace at Menorah Park, Syracuse, NY.
