Obituary for Rose Ellen Sheppard

Rose Ellen Sheppard, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday at the Masonic Care Community in Utica. She was born July 6, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. She worked for many years in the purchasing department of Vassar College and was a homemaker. Rose was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville, and enjoyed reading, gardening and travel.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Daniel Sheppard, in 2008.
Surviving are her daughters, Joan (John) Andrek of Cedar Key, FL and Ellen (Robert) O’Leary of Fayetteville, NY; sons, Daniel (Alice) Sheppard of Mattituck, NY and Andrew (Susan) Sheppard of Saint Helena Island, SC; grandchildren, Robert O’Leary, Caitlin O’Leary, James Sheppard, Michael (Ashley) Sheppard and Julia Sheppard; sisters, Dolores Traexler of Winter Park, FL and Margaret Magee of Philadelphia, PA; and brother, Thomas (Marion) Pardini of Kennett Square, PA.
Services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, February 7 at St. Michael’s Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY. Burial will be held at 2 pm at the Saratoga National Veteran’s Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville, NY 13066.
