Obituary for Joan Ruth Miletta

Joan Ruth  Miletta
Joan Ruth Miletta, 85, of East Syracuse passed away Tuesday from cancer, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Peckville, PA, the daughter of the late Thomas and Doris Hodgetts.

Joan was married to Bernard Miletta for 63 wonderful years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joan spent her life lovingly taking care of family. She had a kind and generous heart, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Joan was a member of Collamer United Church for over 50 years.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna (David) Richie of Kirkville; sons, Robert (Margaret) Miletta of Bridgeport, Michael Miletta of East Syracuse; grandchildren, Christine (Timothy) Halladay, Caitlin (John II) Bergett, Dr. Nathanial (Stephanie) Miletta, Kyle (Elizabeth) Miletta; great– granddaughters, Brooklyn Bergett, Norah Miletta; brother, Thomas Hodgetts; and several nieces and nephews. Joan is predeceased by her husband, Bernard J. Miletta; sister, Shirley DiCindio; and her brother, David Hodgetts.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the R. H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd., Minoa. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Collamer Cemetery.
