Obituary for Donald H. Baxter

Donald H.  Baxter
Donald H. Baxter, 93, of The Nottingham passed away peacefully with his family. He was born in Syracuse and graduated from Central High School, attended Syracuse University and received degrees from the University of Rochester, the University of Buffalo and the University of Washington. He was an Orthodontist for over 40 years.

Don taught for many years at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center. He was the cofounder of the CNY Study Group of Dentofacial Abnormalities. He was a member and past District III Governor of Gyro Club. He was an avid supporter of Light Work at Syracuse University.

He spent a lifetime enjoying time on Round Island, the Grasse River Club in the Adirondacks and in later years at his home at Cranberry Lake.

Don was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Christa Baxter in 2015.

He is survived by his children, Nancy (Dan) York of Fayetteville, Amy (Rich) Cerussi of Tiburon, CA and John (Heidi) Baxter of Newbury, MA; brother, Robert Baxter of Dania, FL; seven grandchildren, Danny York, Peter, Matthew, Michael and Caroline Cerussi; and Nicholas and Andrew Baxter; one great-grandson, Theo Cerussi.

The family would like to thank the special people at the Nottingham RHCF, Peace at Homecare, Peregrine and Help & Hugs for their dedicated loving care and support of their father in his final years.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 to 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 28th at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee Str., Fayetteville. The funeral service will follow the calling hours.
