James Joseph Carroll, Sr., 86, of DeWitt, passed away on Saturday. He was a graduate of Syracuse University. James was a manufacturers rep in the hospitality industry for many years. He attended Holy Cross church. James was an avid golfer as a member of Nottingham Knolls Country Club and the Pompey Club and in the winter months he enjoyed ice skating. James proudly served his country in the US Navy.
Survivors: His wife of 63 years, Frances Longo Carroll; children, James (Jennifer, deceased) of DeWitt, Joanne (Pat) Brennan of Denver, CO and Mary Carroll of Philadelphia, PA; brother Richard of Syracuse; two grandchildren, Cassidy and Claire Brennan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, August 30 from 4 to 7 pm at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 East Genesee Street, Fayetteville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, August 31, at Holy Cross Church, 4112 East Genesee Street, DeWitt.
