Elizabeth Burgess Benedict, 100, formerly of Manlius, died peacefully on September 8, 2016 at the Westlake Health Campus in Commerce, MI. Betty was born in Chelsa, MA and resided in Oneonta from 1936 to 1967, then in Cazenovia until moving to Manlius in 1995.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Benedict in 1992 and her friend, Selden E. Tubbs in 2013.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dale K. and Marion K. Benedict of Commerce, MI; grandchildren, Eric (Kassi) Benedict of Middlesex, VT and Brenda (Daniel) Saban of Lake Oswego, OR; great-grandchildren, twins, Alec and Bradley Benedict and Calliope and Alan Saban; brother, Dr. William (Hillary) Burgess of Toronto, Canada; nieces, Ellen and Ruth Burgess; and Selden’s children, Susan Blakeslee and John Tubbs; and grandchildren, Christy Blakeslee and Lincoln Tubbs.
There will be a memorial service at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Cazenovia.
