Obituary for John A. Warner

John A. Warner, 94, of Manlius passed away Tuesday morning December 6, 2016.
Born in Orange, NJ on April 11, 1922, he was the son of Edward and Edith Warner. After graduating Colgate University in 1944, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served during World War II as an artillery officer. John started his own general insurance agency in 1955, John A. Warner Insurance Agency, until his retirement in 1987.
He loved travel and being outdoors, biking, cross county skiing and hiking. He enjoyed a good adventure.
He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Edward Warner III; and first his wife Jane T. Warner. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Elizabeth “Betsy” S. Warner; daughters, Susan (Dennis) McNamara of Manlius and Judith (James) Hogan of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, Megan (Christopher) Haines, Molly (Timothy) Marston, Tyler(Jamie) Hogan, Courtney Hogan Rider, Kyle (Shelly) Hogan, Jordan (Heather) Hogan; step-sons, James “Jay” (Kristen) Swaine, David (Ching Hui) Swaine, John (Elaine) Swaine, Michael (Jeanne) Swaine; two step grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Sunday December 11, from 2 to 4 pm at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 4pm.
