Obituary for Dennis Edward Nolan

Dennis Edward Nolan, 94, of Fayetteville passed away on January 15, 2017. He was the son of the late Col. and Mrs. Daniel A. Nolan. Mr. Nolan spent 3 years in the Army Air Force as an aerial gunnery instructor. He received his B.S. from SUNY Plattsburgh and did graduate work at SU. Dennis taught 5th grade for 2 years and retired from Carrier Corp. in September 1982 after 32 years as a technical writer.
Mr. Nolan enjoyed active sports, including mountain biking, roller blading, windsurfing and snowboarding. He played the organ and keyboard. He and his wife traveled to Alaska, Hawaii and extensively in Europe. They also enjoyed Caribbean and Mediterranean Cruises.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jeannine H. LeRoy Nolan; a daughter, Ruth of Syracuse; sister, Angela of Appleton, Wisconsin; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, January 19th from 4 pm to 7 pm at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St, Fayetteville. A service will follow the calling hours at 7 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
