Obituary for James E. Carroll

James “Jimmy” Earl Carroll of Manlius New York died peacefully at the age of 59 at Upstate University Hospital surrounded by family after a long fought battle with Leukemia. He grew up in the FM area and was proud of his degree in Criminal Justice after graduating from Fayetteville-Manlius High School and obtaining his Eagle Scout. He was a local business owner from a family of entrepreneurs. He also spent many years coaching various sports from the HS to collegiate level and was a football and head lacrosse coach at Morrisville State College. Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, camping in the Adirondacks, and water-skiing on Skaneateles Lake. He also loved going to the horse races, golfing, and riding his motorcycles. He was a “Jim” of all trades and always found a way to fix or build almost anything. Although he had many different hobbies and interests, his family was second to none.

James is predeceased by his father, Donald “Don” Carroll. He is survived by his mother Jean of Fayetteville; his older sister Kathryn; and younger brothers Bill and David (Susan) Carroll. He is also survived by former spouse and mother of his children Linda; his five children, Derek (Jennifer), Matthew, Andrea, Michael, Teresa; and grandchildren Taylor, Carter, Savannah, Jaxson, and Sidney; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, we would ask that contributions be made to the American Red Cross.

Thank you to Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel and Immaculate Conception Church of Fayetteville, New York.
