James K. Montgomery, 82, of Chittenango passed away Saturday. He was born in Massena the son of the late Lee and Mae Montgomery. Jim grew up in Winthrop and graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School. After graduation he proudly served in the United States Air Force.

James worked for the Carrier Corporation until his retirement in 2002. After retirement he worked part-time at McGowans Hardware Store. Jim was a parishioner for over 50 years at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Over those 50 years he served the Lord in many different ways.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and volunteering in his community for several different organizations. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

He was predeceased by his wife, Judy Montgomery.

Surviving are his daughters, Julie (Lewis) Reals, Jill (Steven) Just; grandchildren, Brittany (Erick) Haas, Brandon (Kourtney) Reals, Shelby and Sami Just; great-granddaughter, Elliana Haas; sister, Gloria McGuire; brother, David Montgomery; several nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his sisters, Pat Strickland, Carolyn Damon; and brother, Michael Montgomery

Calling hours will be Monday, February 24th from 4-7 p.m. at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. A funeral service will be Tuesday, February 25th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 204 Genesee St. Chittenango. Burial with military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
