Obituary for Alice A. Wallace

Alice Wallace, of Fayetteville, NY and formerly of Lakeland, FL, passed away on March 8, 2021. Alice was born in Duryea, PA and moved to Syracuse, where she attended North Syracuse High School and Onondaga Community College. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Manlius.

She married Tom Wallace in 1980 and joined him in the publishing/Pennysaver business at the Scotsman Press. They also acquired Marathon Independent and Our Press, Inc. in Binghamton, NY.

Alice enjoyed golf at Cavalry Country Club in Manlius, NY and Grasslands Country Club in Lakeland, FL. She also enjoyed the challenge of duplicate bridge and was always ready to find a game. Summers at Tuscarora Lake were always welcomed, where family gatherings and friends added to the enjoyment.

She was extremely generous, independently strong, intuitive and most importantly, a devoted mother and grandmother.

Her memory will be cherished by son, Mark (MaryAnn) Russell; daughter, Susan (Marc) Pedrosa; step-children, Charles (Roberta) Wallace, Wendy (Bill) Greiner, Thomas (Lisa) Wallace, Jr., Gregory Wallace and Beth (Ron) Powell; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Dolores Krest of Florida and brother-in-law, Frank (Cindy) Houde of California. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom; mother, Mary Ciannilli Brigandi; and her sister, Eileen Houde.

Family and friends may call from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, March 13th at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The service at 12:30 pm will follow the calling hour at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
