Amelia Fiore Clemente passed away peacefully on January 16, 2020 at the age of 97.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years Joseph Clemente; parents, Angelo and Pasqualina Fiore; brother and sister-in- law, James and Gladys Fiori; sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Fortunata) and Peter Testani; niece, Norma Mastroianni; and nephew, Fred Testani.
Mal, as she was known since childhood is survived by her children, Anita and Robert DeSarbo of Ballston Spa, NY, Reverend Joseph Clemente of Solvay, NY, Lisa and Mark Bethmann of Manlius, NY; grandchildren, Amanda and Rick Vance of Ganesvoort, NY, Robyn and Michael Mangini of San Francisco, CA, Alexander Bethmann of Rochester, NY, Rachel Bethmann of Rutland, VT; two great-grandchildren Ava and Leo Mangini; brother-in-law Salvatore (Elvira) Clemente; sisters-in-law Carolyn and Laura Clemente; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special Goddaughter Linda Haacker.
Mal’s greatest joy was raising her children and spending time with her family. She enjoyed knitting, volunteering for church events, shopping, and cooking the Sunday dinner, serving her homemade pasta and famous chicken soup, both of which she was known to transport long distances. But her true passion was baking and sharing her Easter bread and Christmas cookies with family and friends.
Mal was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Daughters of Columbus, and the American Legion Post 82.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 21st from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 East Genesee Street Fayetteville, NY. The family will also receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Wednesday prior to the Mass at St. Anthony’s Church
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her son at St. Anthony of Padua Church. 306 Odell Avenue Endicott, NY on Wednesday January 22nd at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City, NY.
In lieu of flowers donations in Mal’s memory may be made to The American Heart Association or St. Anthony of Padua Church.
