Obituary for Barbara M Johnson
Barbara Manton Johnson, 85, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Francis House.
Born in Syracuse on May 15, 1935, attended Fayetteville-Manlius High School. She was a clerical worker for Agway/Telmark before retiring in 1997.
Barbara was a lifelong Yankees fan who was also a talented knitter and sewer. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading, casinos, and all sports on tv. She was also a member of the Fayetteville Senior Center.
She was predeceased by her mother, Arlene Straub Manton Van Giesen and brothers, James Manton and Thomas Manton.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen (Kurt) Ohliger of Jamesville; former husband, Richard Johnson; sister, Patricia Seago of Lexington, KY; brother, John Manton of Cumming, GA; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews..
A private service will be held and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
