Barbara S. Wells, 83, passed away on February 23, 2023 after an extended illness. She was born in Syracuse, New York, on September 17, 1939 to Loretta Thorp Sturick. Barb was raised in Minoa and lived there until a job transfer took her and her late husband, Dana, to Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1984. Barb enjoyed reading, canning, antiquing, and bird watching, which she especially enjoyed with her grandchildren sitting around the dining room table.

      Barb is survived by her son, Michael (Eireann) Wells; grandchildren, Maegan, Brendan, Jacob and Audrey Wells; son-in-law, William J. Gilberti, Jr., and children Alyssa (Matt) Albert and grandchildren, Emily and Jackson Albert and Ericka Gilberti; sisters, Linda (John) Greiner, Mary (Ray) Greiner, Patricia (William) Pindle, Sandra Ackerman; brother, Timothy (Nancy) Sturick; and  many nieces and nephews.

     Barb was predeceased by her mother, Loretta; her husband, Dana; and her daughter, Kimberly Ann Gilberti who passed unexpectedly on February 9, 2023. She was also predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and William Boehmer and brother-in-law, Chuck Ackerman.

     Services for Barb will be on Friday, March 3, 2023. There will be a calling hour from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a service directly after at 11:00 am at the R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Road, Minoa, New York. Burial will be in Minoa Methodist Cemetery, Minoa.

     Contributions in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Minoa Library or the Minoa Methodist Church.
