Obituary for Beverly Mae Rogers

Beverly Mae Rogers, 90, of Collamer, passed away Friday. Born in Syracuse, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Genevieve Gravius.

Beverly grew up on Badgley Road in Collamer and graduated from East Syracuse High School. She married Charles Rogers in 1951 and built a family home next to her parents where she raised her 3 children. Beverly was always very sociable and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a homemaker, avid square dancer and enjoyed golf, travel and camping. She spent winters in Florida for the past 30 years and was still dancing into her 90’s at Cypress Cove in Fort Myers, where she resided the past 2 years. She was always known for her quick wit…that she never lost!

Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Dean) Fitting; son, Chuck (Donna) Rogers; daughter-in-law, Debbie Rogers; sister, Shirley (Richard) Parker; grandchildren, David LaCerais, Heather (Owen) Miller, Jamie, Marcina, Lucas and Logan Rogers; great-grandchildren, Bentley and Harper Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Charles Rogers and son, James Rogers predeceased her.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 30, from 5 to 7 PM and from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday, January 31 at the R. H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd., Minoa. A funeral service will be held following Thursday’s visitation at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at White Chapel Memory Gardens.
