Obituary for Brian J. Relihan

     Brian J.  Relihan, 81, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 10, 2022.  Born and raised in East Syracuse on November 21, 1940, he was the son of Maurice and Katheryn Relihan. Brian served in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Intrepid. 

     He worked for Niagara Mohawk as a hotstick linesman where many knew him as “Boomer”, retiring in 1998. 

     Brian enjoyed making his red wine, bird watching and admired antique cars. He also was an avid reader, enjoyed his daily walks to Starbucks and will be remembered for his Irish wit and humor.

     He was predeceased by first wife, Donna Monti and brothers Michael and James Relihan.

     Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Nancy Nastasi; daughters , Colleen (Larry) Argus and Denise (Rich) Hughes; grandchildren, William (Liz) Landry, Brian (Jamie) Landry, Shane Argus, Nathan (Taillear) Hughes, Ben Hughes, Allison Hughes and Aaron Hughes; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Maureen Nolan; and several nieces and nephews.

     Calling hours will be Friday from 10 am to 12pm at St. Matthew’s Church, 229 W. Yates St, East Syracuse.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at the church.

     In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Matthew’s Church or Clear Path for Veterans in Chittenango.
