Carol A. Smith, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2022. Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late John Thornton and Mae Adele Smith.

     Carol graduated from FM High School in 1960 and earned her RN Degree in 1962. Along with hospital and home care, Carol worked for St. Joseph’s Family Medicine until her retirement.

     Carol enjoyed spending time with family, friends and summers at Black Lake.

     She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Earl W. Smith Jr. and brother, John Smith. Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Patrick) McAndrew; son, Earl (Torrey) Smith; sister-in-law, Cora Reals; grandchildren, Sean (Erin) McAndrew, Red Smith-Sweetser; and niece, Sara Reals.

     Services will be private.
