Obituary for Charles G. Denman

Charles G. Denman, 78, of New Bern, NC passed away at home on June 20. Born in Utica on December 21, 1941, he was the son of the late Gordon F. and Anna M. Denman. He worked 33 years as an electrical supervisor at Bristol-Myers Squibb before retiring in 2000. He was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church in New Bern.

A man of many talents, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed many activities including fishing, hunting, gardening, farming, building and repairing. Charles loved working with his hands, whether it was building a house, garage, etc. from the ground up or repairing any type of vehicle, piece of machinery or equipment. He enjoyed golf, bowling, watching football and racing, reading, puzzles, music, cooking and baking. He loved going to all types of festivals, tasting all types of foods and spending time with family and friends.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Kathleen M. Scofield in 2020. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Marie Marconi Denman; daughter, Debora Hall of Statesville, NC; son-in-law, Randy Scofield of Chittenango; six grandchildren, Kristina, Elizabeth, Rebekka, Justin, Nicole, Collin; 7 great-grandchildren; nephew, Spencer; and niece, Hailey.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 am on Friday at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., Syracuse. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Watertown.
