Charleyene A. Cooper-Downs

June 16, 1953 - March 6, 2022

Charleyene Cooper-Downs, 68,  passed away on Sunday surrounded by her husband, children, and niece. Charleyene was a life resident of Fayetteville, NY. She is survived by her husband, John Downs, Kenneth Cross (son), Helena Cross (daughter), Dana Cross (son), Tamrah Pedrotti (niece), many grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.

Anyone who knew Charleyene, knew that there was always a spot at her table and a place in her heart to welcome you. She would fill the room with love and laughter, and if you didn’t like what she had to say, she would “send you down the road with a bean sandwich.” With a heart of gold, Charleyene was always the first to help someone in need and she will truly be missed.

At Charleyene’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.

It is always hard to lose someone that means so much to you, but we must live on for her and honor her memory. She is now surrounded by the loved ones that passed before her, and I know she is taking care of them just as she took care of all of us. Every time you see a purple flower bloom, that’s her way of smiling down on us.
