Obituary for Cornelia Corbett

Cornelia P. Corbett, 72, of East Syracuse, passed away on December 27, 2022.  Raised in the Catholic Church, she invited Christ into her heart through her everyday deeds and actions.  She was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Gertrude Farrell Corbett.  Cornelia graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School and worked at various local companies over the years, retiring in 2011 to take on her greatest role as grandmother.

Born the eldest daughter of nine children, Cornelia was a fierce protector and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and great-aunt.  She was an avid gardener, baker and cook. She loved being outside, whether it was a walk at Green Lakes, visiting the zoo or watching her feathered friends at the feeder in her backyard.

Cornelia was predeceased by her husband, John Hinchman; brothers, James and Brian; and sister, Maureen Buschatzke.

She is survived by her daughter, Kiernan Stinson (Mark); brothers, John, Timothy (Alexis); sisters, Kathleen Kahley (David), Erin Corbett Shelley (Donald) and Theresa Simmons (Dennis); grandchildren, Roric and Everley Stinson; and several cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Spring burial will be in Fayetteville Cemetery.

Cornelia can be remembered by donating to ovarian cancer research, planting a garden or enjoying a cup of tea.
